Wimbledon Garden

Wimbledon

Wimbledon, London – city garden

I met Ray & Leigh at Hampton Court, where they fell in love with the woodland garden I have design and planted called Athanasia. Athanasia is a place for reflection, rest and a celebration of the beauty of nature. It is a serene garden that offers a moment of tranquillity, as well as hope for the future. They asked me if I would create this vision for them in the front garden, once this was done we moved straight the rear garden creating a haven for wildlife. By incorporating a vast number of insect-attracting, pollinating plants and the odd bug hotel or two, their garden was completely transformed.

The clients talk of their pleasure at the vast improvement of their garden, now that they are able to enjoy the sound of various birds who have arrived to nest in their newly-created environment.

“We asked David to help us with the outdoor spaces in front and back of our new home – we spent nearly two years re-developing a 1929 detached property in Wimbledon, to become a low energy, people and planet-friendly place. David has designed and installed a ‘Garden of Eden’ for us – each growing season brings new colour, new birds, butterflies, bees and new patterns of colour and shape. We highly recommend Weald Design, and are happy to show others around our garden, should you be interested in working with this gifted team.”
